During our worship service, you may see someone being baptized into Christ. In the Bible, baptism is the way a person accepts Christ’s free offer of salvation. You’ll see that we baptize by immersion (dipping under water). We do this because in the New Testament the Greek word “baptizo” literally means “to dip or plunge under water”. And it is the example we see in the Bible as it describes them going down into the water. But scripture also tells us that our baptism is a beautiful symbol of Jesus’ death, burial, and resurrection. (Romans 6). Just as we are raised up from the waters of baptism, we firmly believe that Jesus will raise us from the dead someday!
We would welcome the chance to talk with you about baptism and any questions you may have.
